Welcome to the first day of the rest of our lives at this new site. You’re reading what is known as a “post” and that’s about the extent of our abilities at this stage of our development. Getting here took lots of time and reading, but without the technical support of the great people at Blue Host, none of this would’ve been possible.
We ask for your patience as we gradually convert our “static” website to this weblog, all in the hope of expanding our outreach through an interractive approach. We’ve already recorded the first Podcast, now we just have to figure out how to post it to the site and, of course, manage all that follows.
Thanks for being here. We’re hoping to do some good things from this platform and we welcome your active participation and advice.
Paul Palmes and Kristin Munro

Thanks for finally getting this site up and running. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to this message, but am troubled somewhat by the ease in which a spammer could do the same. Maybe we need to think about that as we develop this blog…….

Hello Paul and Kristin!
Congratulatoins on getting the Word Press thing going. Spam is a problem with blogs, to be sure. That first message is a default one that comes with the install however.
You can go into your Options and block comments based on typical spam words, or by domain, etc. You can have comments held for approval, and delete or approve them in batches. Lots of choices in there, so spend some time, and eventually it will look familiar to your eyes.
I am going to give you a ring shortly.
Aloha,
Roxanne

Wonderful, marvelous, exciting! Here’s to your adventurous nature and taking the big leap into the present day. Here even the little guy, the individual with something to say can post their voice to the world… damn to hell the publishing constraints of the past.
Oh… please, please add a spell checker to this page!

I am testing a spell check plug-in for the site and am moderately happy with it. I say moderately because it froze twice in the process of “checking while typing,” but in the normal mode of “check spelling and preview,” it seems to do fine.
This is a customer request from Ms. Johnson, a notable and positive presence whose preferences are heeded whenever possible! I’ll leave this feature in place for now, but if you have any problems, let us know and we’ll “yank ‘er outta here!”
So much has happened since that first week! All I can say is thank you very, very much for your early support and, “We’ll keep the light on for you!”

Does anyone know the name of the song that plays during the intro/exit of the podcast?

Paul,Thanks for doing the podcasts. I have listened to about ten of them and have downloaded the rest to listen to only my daily jog. You cover many things that I though I knew about, but you manage to use a word that I don’t use or express a thought in a way that is new to me.

Hello Bill and many thanks for your kind words! I just wish I had time to do more podcasts…. With the change in my work life (leaving Northern Pipe to devote full time to consulting) I hope to find my office time able to include podcasts on a more regular basis. My departure, by the way, has been a planned event for over 5 years, with my former mentee, Kristin Munro, now a fully certified ASQ quality manage - so this has been a wonderful and personally rewardiing transition.
Jog well, Bill and I hope to join you more often as the year progresses!
